Tasting Notes:

A melange of red and black fruit on the bouquet and palate, with each variety seemingly contributing, layers of mulberry leaf, spicy oak and chocolate also in the equation. Structured to cellar well but certainly enjoyable as it is.

Technical:

DJL Cabernet Sauvignon is a stylish blend of 86% Cabernet grapes with 10% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot grapes. It features a deep red colour with a garnet haze. The aromatic bouquet presents lively scents of blackcurrants and dark forest fruits, supported by spicy hints of nori, cedary oak and bay leaf. The full-bodied palate is filled with dense flavours of blackberries, cassis and dark chocolate. These generous fruit characters fuse with ripe tannins to provide a stable structure, culminating the wine in a lovely and persistent finale. Made for consumption upon release, this fantastic Cab Sauv can also be enjoyed after storing it in the cellar for few years.

Accolades & Awards:

95 Points - National Wine Show of Australia 2019

93 Points - James Halliday

"Predominantly cabernet sauvignon, 14% of the blend comprised of malbec and petit verdot, 14 months in French barriques. A melange of red and black fruit on the bouquet and palate, with each variety seemingly contributing, layers of mulberry leaf, spicy oak and chocolate also in the equation. Structured to cellar well but certainly enjoyable as it is."

92 Points - Ray Jordan

"Loads of Margaret River fruit generosity here black olive and blackcurrent with chocolatey statement with excellent intergration and balance."

92 Points - Campbell Mattinson

"Ripe and convincing. Violets, blackcurrent, smoked cedarwood and bay leaves. In the groove, in the zone. Nice lick of tannin, pretty good depth of fruit, and a sound, sure-footed finish. Very good value."

92 Points - James Suckling

"Exuberant dark fruit, such as cassis and dark cherries followed by sage. Fruity and delicious on the palate. Which is bolstered by succulent tannins and juicy acidity. The finish shows welcome grip. Drink now."
