  • 90 POINT RATED HUON HOOKE
  • 92 POINT RATED TONI PATERSON THE REAL REVIEW

Specifications:
Vintage: 2017
Source/Region:

Clare Valley, South Australia

Grape Variety: Riesling
Cellaring: Drink now or cellar for 1-3 years
Bottle Top: Stelvin
Alcohol Content: 11.50
Standard Drinks: 6.80
Rating: 96
Tasting Notes:

Pale green in appearance with typical Clare Valley Riesling characters of lemon, lime and apple plus some bath salts/talc elements also on display as well. The palate is fresh, crisp and dry; the concentrated flavours and balanced acidity works in conjunction with the long, textural finish.

Technical:

The GCV Premium Riesling comes from the oldest block of Riesling vines on the vineyard. Our aim is to make something that is more textural than the Celtic Farm, not relying totally on acidity to give length and drive to the wine.

Accolades & Awards:

96 Points - James Halliday Wine Companion

"A totally delicious riesling, with succulent lime and lemon flavours floating on a raft of zesty acidity. It has coherent structure, texture and balance, and while its longer-term future is assured, patience isn't a prerequisite to cracking the screwcap."

96 Points - The Wine Front

"Essence-like, with all that lime juice and then a jasmine perfume above. Juicy, but straight-backed, with a slate-like texture, pure acid cut, an almost spicy exotic finish of impeccable length. Marvellous. A cut above."

90 Points - Huon Hooke

"Pale colour; fresh, clean, bright lemon and muskstick and kaffir lime aromas. The palate is bright and crisp, intense and lively, juicy and bracing, with lovely balance and softness despite the fact that it's a baby and a bit young to drink."

92 Points - Toni Paterson The Real Review

"An expressive riesling with gentle spice, ripe lime and a little honeysuckle. The palate is intense and racy, with a tart green apple character and a lively vein of acidity. I suspect it is still holding its cards close to its chest, but there is great potential here. The patient will be rewarded."
