Full bright yellow; rich peachy open-knit bouquet with smoky and spicy complexing characters, then a powerful, concentrated palate with richness that borders on opulent. "I think I’ll leave the 2012 Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir for Mattinson or Mike to review. Meanwhile, I’m pretty sold on this one. Touch of struck match, fine spicy cinnamon oak, grapefruit and stonefruit. Medium bodied, well etched lines of acidity softened with a light creaminess. Pure fruited, not too much winery work or oak – or rather – just enough to lend complexity. Cool, fresh and spicy to close with admirable length of flavour. Hits the Modern Australian style bang on."
